Josie’s Cozy Corner: 10-Month Update
Hey friends!
It’s been 10 months with our beautiful Josie Rae (now 11! Mama’s a little behind on the updates)! August flew by, and we’ve been so busy with work and life that I haven’t had a chance to sit down to tell you all the wonderful things going on in Josie’s little corner of the world. So, without further ado, let’s dive in!
Josie is my daredevil. She lives for adventure and is always doing something that may or may not be giving me a heart attack. On the 4th of July, she had no fear of crawling down the driveway while we sat out and watched fireworks. She handled the 4th quite well despite our little trip to the ER with big sis. The noise didn’t seem to bother her much, and she had no issues getting to sleep after all the festivities. In addition to the 4th, Josie got to take part in other celebrations, including daddy and Lyla’s birthdays! She may not have been able to try cake, but she was the perfect Anna for Lyla’s Frozen-themed party.
This month, Josie FINALLY said mama! She doesn’t say it consistently, but I’ve heard it come out of her mouth a few times. So, that was exciting for me since we’ve been saying dada for quite a while. Josie is on the move these days, and I always find her pulling herself up on things, getting into all the cabinets, or standing on her own. She’s determined to keep up with the rest of us, and I know that determination will take her far in life. She currently has 4 teeth and is loving her solids! She’s my messier eater and enjoys throwing food on the floor. She always manages to get whatever she’s eating in her hair, so thankfully she’s a big fan of bathtime! She loves baths so much that when it’s Lyla’s turn, or she hears us start the bath, she comes crawling into the bathroom. I’ve had to stop her a time or two from trying to get back in once she’s in her jammies, haha.
One thing I’ve noticed Josie does that I never saw Lyla do is have her tongue out frequently. She does it so casually too. She could be playing or deep in thought, and her little tongue will peek out. She’s also quite the little lady. When she’s sitting on the ground, I’ve noticed she will cross her feet together, and it’s so cute. Josie’s current obsessions are her toy vacuum and Lyla’s toy jeep. She loves pushing buttons on the vacuum and playing music. Sometimes she’ll sit there and move the vacuum back and forth pretending to vacuum the floor. However, the jeep is a whole other level of excitement. Josie goes crazy for jeep rides! As soon as the jeep is in view, she bounces up and down, giggles, and gets ready for a good time! Kent and I enjoy watching her in the jeep because we can play music through Bluetooth. So she is often bouncing along to the music as she rides.
Anyway, that is all that I have for this update, friends. Thank you all for reading, and I’ll chat with you again in my next post!
Love, Brandi
