Josie’s Cozy Corner: 9 Month Update

Hey friends!

Wow, I can’t believe Josie is 9 months! Time sure is flying! Over the past month, I feel like we’ve seen so many changes in Josie. We officially have a crawler! She started army crawling backwards, switched to lifting one leg to try to move forward, and finally got it down over Father’s Day weekend! She hasn’t stopped moving since and thinks it’s funny to crawl away from mommy when it’s time for bed. She’s still babbling away nonstop and loves saying “ahhh” with Lyla anytime we’re in the car and I’m trying to drive. She’s constantly pulling herself up on things and working very hard on using her sippy cup. Josie also got her first two teeth!

Josie still loves trying new food and grabs whatever we put on her tray. She’s also still incredibly squirming and moves side to side during diaper changes. We joke that she’s indecisive because she will want someone to pick her up, but then immediately wants to explore. She currently is obsessed with air vents. Her new nickname (given to her by Lyla) is the Joker because she literally laughs at everything.

As for new experiences, Josie celebrated her first Donuts with Dad this past month! She also got to visit the Omaha Zoo! I can’t say she looked at many animals, but she had a blast riding in the wagon and taking in the scenery. One thing that has not been so fun is her separation anxiety. She has it way worse than Lyla ever did. We’ve both had grandmas watch her for short periods and both times she cried and cried. Poor girl. Hopefully it’s short lived and she starts to handle going to other family members a little better.

Speaking of having stranger danger, this story makes me laugh considering how she refuses to go to new people. So, daycare told me one day they had a lady with long dark hair come in from their Step-Up quality program to do their routine check. When she stepped into the infant room, Josie saw her and I guess bolted for her. They said they had never seen her crawl so fast before. They realized that she probably thought the lady was me and that’s why she hurried over. Poor Jose was probably so disappointed when she realized she wasn’t mom, haha.

Anyway, that is all I have for this month!

I hope you guys enjoy reading and I’ll check in with you guys again very soon!

Love, Brandi
