Spidey Themed Birthday Party
Hey friends!!
Today, I am hopping on here to share all about Lyla’s 3rd birthday party theme! Never in a million years did I think I would be throwing a Spidey-themed party for my little girl, but what can I say, she loves her superheroes! Plus, I had a lot of fun throwing a girly twist on it!
When coming up with the color scheme and decorations, I pulled inspiration from the Ghost Spider character since she is the main girl superhero in the show. I settled on purple, teal, and pink for my colors since those are the colors on Ghost Spider’s superhero suit. As I’ve done in previous years, I purchased papier-mache letters and a number 3 to decorate for the table display. I spray-painted both of these and then added fun elements to bring the Spidey vision to life. You’ll notice on the papier-mache name, I printed off city buildings, images of Ghost Spider, and made cobwebs/spiders to hot glue on. Similarly, I did the same thing for the number 3. I think they turned out great, and it’s always one of my favorite things to do for her parties!
For the table’s centerpiece, I made buildings made out of Amazon boxes and tissue paper! It was that simple. I then took some of the character images I had printed out and added them to the buildings, too. The last thing we put on the table this year was the party favors. They included Spider-Bracelets I found on Amazon, Spidey stickers/tattoos, and cotton candy! I thought the cotton candy was perfect since it reminded me of cobwebs, and I was able to find a party pack at Hobby Lobby! We did the balloon stands again this year, and I originally bought some foil number balloons to put on the top, but they were larger than I expected, so I ended up not using them. Since we moved the table outside this year, we did have a few balloons that popped due to the heat, but for the most part, they held up pretty well! The last thing we had outside was her birthday banner. This was made using my Cricut, and I loved how it turned out! We hung this on the side of the house above one of the pools.
Inside, the only area I decorated was the side cabinet. I put the cupcakes on this cabinet last year, and it worked out nicely again this year. For the cupcake toppers, I made those using my Cricut, and then a co-worker of mine explained how I could make the ombre frosting for the cupcakes. I will link the tutorial I followed here. It was messy, but it worked! :) I also made a pretty tulle garland using some tulle I found from Michaels. They always have the prettiest colors to choose from!
To keep with the theme, we served snacks that I could tie in with the theme. Thus, we had Green Goblin Grapes, Peter Parker Pinwheels, Spidey Chips with Web Dip, and of course SuperPower Punch! I just created the food labels using Canva and then printed them on cardstock. Easy peasy! I also had to make sure the birthday girl had the perfect party dress. Thanks to my boss, she found Lyla’s adorable Spidey dress at Walmart and sent me the link so I could buy it!
Our girl had a blast this year celebrating with all her friends! This was the first year that she was able to tell me what kind of party she wanted, and I had so much fun putting this together for her. As stressful as parties can be, it’s one of my favorite things to plan/decorate for. It allows me to tap into my creative side and brings me so much joy! I hope you guys find this post helpful if you are planning a party soon, and if you have a Spidey-loving kid, then I hope you found some inspiration from this theme! Let me know in the comments which decorations you liked best!
Thanks for reading!
Love, Brandi
