Josie’s Cozy Corner: 3 Month Update
Happy New Year, friends! ✨🪩
Our amazing Josie Rae is officially 3 months old! She’s the sweetest little thing and such an easy-going baby. We love her to pieces! Since my last update, Josie has started going to daycare with big sis. Lyla loves having Josie there and often visits her in the baby room. Josie has made some new friends and even did a little finger painting with her class. Josie’s teachers have told us on multiple occasions that she is the “perfect daycare baby”. She’s usually pretty chill unless she’s hungry, then watch out! She doesn’t like it when we take her bottle away to burp lol.
I may have mentioned in my last update that we were having some issues with her gaining weight. After her 2-month shots, we noticed a decrease in her feedings. She was still having wet diapers, and we thought it was just a reaction from the shots. However, she wasn’t taking more than 3oz at a time. Her pediatrician suggested she should be getting at least 24oz or more in 24 hours. We took her in a week later to have her evaluated, and they didn’t find anything wrong. Since then, we have progressed to a level 2 nipple flow, and we have seen some improvement in her feedings.
Josie currently loves putting her fist to her mouth and gives Daddy the biggest smiles in the morning. She also loves to talk and is always sharing something with us. Too bad we can’t understand baby talk. I have a feeling she will be a social butterfly when she finally does say words 🙂. In addition, she has started to give us small giggles and has started to roll to her side more when lying down. Similar to Lyla, she also loves music and usually falls asleep within seconds if we play something at bedtime. Her current favorite is “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton 🙂.
This past month, she got to celebrate her first Christmas and New Year’s! She and Santa didn’t exactly get off on the right foot, but she sure was mesmerized by the Christmas lights! Josie isn’t sure what Santa brought her since she stayed asleep during gift opening for both family Christmases, but I have no doubt Lyla will show her everything once she’s played with it first. 😂
That’s all that I have for this month, friends! I’m excited to see what new things Josie will be doing in my next update. I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday.
Love, Brandi
