Josie’s Cozy Corner: 7 Month Update
Hey friends!
I’m back with another update on our Josie Rae! This little one keeps us on our toes, and we’re loving seeing the little person that she’s becoming. So, let’s jump on in and talk about what she’s been up to! This past month, Josie decided to boycott naps (at least at home). We noticed she dropped her morning nap at daycare, which is a little earlier than when Lyla dropped hers. However, when she is at home, it is SO hard to get her to go down for her afternoon nap. I don’t know if it’s FOMO or because she hears Lyla playing, but it’s been a challenge!
Josie has also developed quite a temper. She gets very upset when Lyla takes a toy away, when mom or dad leaves the room, or when she wants something that mom or dad are using. I suppose having to share right from the get-go with big sis is finally starting to take its toll. She always wants to play with Lyla’s toys, and Lyla will reluctantly share, lol. On the bright side, at least she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to use her voice! Josie is quite a talker. She’s always babbling about something and has officially said “dada” and “Lyla”. She has said “mhmm”, but we’re still working on mama.
Josie has also been trying all sorts of solids! She’s really been enjoying trying new foods. We tried purees with her to see if she was interested. She didn’t hate it, but BLW has just worked so much better for us. My girls are just not puree lovers. Josie’s current obsession is phones. She will literally lunge for it if we are using it. Even if the phone isn’t in use, if it’s within her sight or reach, she’s grabbing it! She goes crazy over them. So, it’s safe to say we will use a phone to motivate her to crawl. 😂 However, her current way to move around is to scoot on her back while lying down. It’s so funny to watch her. I’ve never seen a baby move like that before, but she makes it work.
This past month, she also learned how to clap and celebrated her first Easter! She slept through our family egg hunt, but got to help big sis find eggs at the daycare event! During Easter service, both girls were getting pretty squirmy, and I had to remind Lyla that we needed to be quiet. Well, that backfired. Josie made some noise, so Lyla looked at Josie and said, “Shh!” Josie burst into a fit of giggles, which then turned into a cycle of Lyla saying “shh” and Josie giggling. When the service was over, some older ladies sitting behind us said, “Boy, she sure knows her sister! She perked right up when she saw her.” It’s so true. I love her and Lyla’s relationship and how close they are.
That is all that I have for this update, friends! Stay tuned for the 8-month update! Thanks for reading!
Love, Brandi
